Sinopse
Doctor Gershom Duanne arrives in the United States from Uganda on a brief visit on which he is supposed to deliver a talk about African Literature as well as discuss a book he authored. Following an engaging session, he’s set to leave but his paths cross with a literature student, keen fan of his works by the name of Quincy. Quincy is quite persistent and insists on meeting the visiting academic at his hotel before his departure.
Dr. Duanne, an author cum lecturer of literature at a university in Jinja, Uganda soon learns that the lady he’s with is not the same one from his session at the university earlier on. She’s radically different and bears a personality that’s impossible to understand. Before flying back home to his wife and daughter, Dr. Duanne agrees to a little adventure around Laramie, Wyoming with his new-found friend. A cheer-filled evening quickly runs into a tragic twist with Quincy nearly losing her life. She barely survives but that instead leaves Dr. Duanne in custody over possible involvement in the accident that seriously maimed her.
When he’s released, he rushes home to his wife and daughter but home’s no longer paradise. An impossible pregnancy and blackmail at work turn up and rattle his life intensely. Quincy still reaches into his life from miles away, stirring up chaos. What becomes of his professorship and marriage? How about the ghost of Quincy?
