Most states have an official state insect. Several states have a butterfly for a state insect, some have a state butterfly, and some have both. Then there are some who have a state agricultural insect, state bee, bug, mascot, or macroinvertebrate. There are even some states who have a mixture of them.
There may already be books that describe the insects of a certain state or in a certain part of the country. There may already be books on a particular kind of insect such as butterflies or bees. Those are all good, but this book is unique because it has the state insect for every state, and you can take it with you when traveling across the country as you travel to different states.
