Daphne Coleman is in the dumps. The grand reopening of the Riverside Lodge and Kennel restaurant is a grand success, but Daphne can't get her eyes off the table where her life-long crush, Jason Henning, is drooling over his date, the obnoxious and gorgeous local reporter Helen Meeks. Go figure some guys. And here she is, stuck with the chronic bickering of Elissa and her boyfriend Manny plus her mother's all-seeing, all-knowing eyes on her.
