Sinopse
Brian L. Murphy's first degree was in Business Management which led to an eighteen year career, performing as an individual contributor, then a supervisor, then as a manager. Now, having been a teacher for twenty years, and experiencing the educational process from the inside, including being a Mentor Teacher for a dozen Student Teachers, he says: "I have loved being a teacher. But my industry is in trouble even dying, and something needs to be done to repair the damage before it's too late.
This book is meant to identify and take responsibility for what is going wrong so we can remedy the problems. "Directly from the headlines: Even before it's mandated closer due to the Covid-19 virus epidemic after spending billions of dollars, the American education system was in crisis. Students were not being prepared for anything except more years without adequate benefit and were turning off. Teachers were quitting in droves and taxpayers were losing faith in the schools they paid for with their taxes. And it's getting worse.
This project is as explosive to the field of education as Rachel Carson's Silent Spring was for agriculture and pesticides, or Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed was for auto safety. And like those books, A Teacher's Quest not only identifies problems but offers solutions.
