Sobre este áudio
Joining us at Audible is Alastair Campbell, British journalist, broadcaster and former political aide. Campbell's latest book, Living Better, takes an in-depth look at his lifelong battle with depression.
Campbell worked as Tony Blair's spokesman and campaign director, and went on to become the Downing Street Director of Communications, and spokesman for the Labour Party. He has acted as freelance adviser to a number of governments and political parties since his work with Blair. Campbell's career as a journalist has ranged from the editor at large of The New European to chief interviewer for GQ magazine.
Campbell's elder brother, Donald, was diagnosed with schizophrenia; after seeing the toll it took on his brother and after his own encounters with mental health issues, Campbell has taken on the task of speaking openly about mental health. He is an ambassador for Time to Change and other mental health charities.
We chatted to Alastair Campbell about his latest book, Living Better, and how his mental health struggles have affected his life and family, as well as the many positives of speaking openly about mental health.
