Rooted in folklore, myth, the spirituality inherent in the land and his own often out-of-step way of looking at life in the 21st century. In his mind's eye, Dean pictured himself taking time over crafting exquisite stories for sharing in a collection–Beyond Poetry became that book.
That Dean Fraser has performed from this collection more than any other, and indeed it formed the basis for his radio show Beyond Poetry, named after the book, speaks of how much this book matters to our poet. From Dean’s touring, it turns out these poems speak to so many others.
