Sinopse
What is it about our lives that makes us concerned about what others think of us more than what is actually good for us? Why do we seek validation from people around us who probably don’t even notice us? And is it really wise to constantly put a cover on ourselves just to please others? Well, these are the questions that we will be answering in this audiobook.
Being African American, even in this era, is difficult. Being an African American woman makes it even harder. But that does not mean you cannot adapt and thrive. Opportunities are always ample--you just need to grab the right ones. Why can’t you be the next Oprah? Why can you not achieve what Michelle Obama achieved? What stops you from being as popular as Beyoncé? You’re no different from them, are you?
It is important to believe in yourself. You cannot let the color of your skin hold you back from anything. As a Black woman myself, I can tell you that the path may be a little rocky, but it’s not impossible to reach the end. We need to recognize our place in this society. We need to value ourselves and make others value us.
You need to learn how to overcome hurdles that might seem impossible to overcome. There will be complications, difficulties, and random snags and hitches, but there is always a way to get past them. This is the journey that will help you tackle these challenges and make your life easier. And for us Black women, it is even more essential that we take care of ourselves. Life is anyways difficult for us. We cannot allow it to negatively affect us even more by neglecting ourselves.
