This story is a fictionalized account of something that actually happened to the author. In the spring of 2019, Kenneth Balch lay in a coma for 10 days, hovering between life and death. Instead, he lands in a world where his sense of human dignity compels him to continually struggle against the assaults waged against him by a powerful being.
