Sinopse
Finding Your Sober Bubble is a wellness-saving resource, not only for those dependent on alcohol, but for anyone who feels they may drink too much, or binge on the booze for the wrong reasons. Inspired by the author’s own struggles to fill life’s ‘void’ with drink, the book contains a wealth of tips and empowerment that not only guide people toward sobriety, but educates every listener on the raw, real-world affects of alcohol over consumption. Darren writes in his own unique style, making the book fun and easy to listen to.
The drinking culture surrounded Darren, and he saw in all its glory the negative side, before falling in line with society that drinking alcohol is the 'go to glamour puss' for all occasions. Thing is, unlike most people, who eventually calm down and refer to their storytelling by starting with “Back in the day”. He struggled to stop, and with a high-flying job leading him further down the road to destruction. It played with his ego and offered a lifestyle that many people would be grateful for, but alcohol almost took over, and no longer grateful, he almost lost grip on a world where contentment is utopia.
This book deals with past emotions and the learning experiences gained through life. Four years of stop and start. On and off the wagon (relapses), led Darren to understand what works and what doesn’t. In the professional life, mixing with people from all walks of life and of different social standing, he gleamed the best bits from everyone and in a battle against the booze took a similar approach, including therapy, AA, social media and scouring the web typing in 'am I an alcoholic?' What followed years of denial was a different strategic way of looking at alcoholism and defining different levels as you will see from the 'Booze category scale'.
Welcome to the world of sober living, where through determination, self-belief, frozen fruit and tonic (diet of course, no gin!) you too can thrive in sobriety and find your very own Sober Bubble.
