Sobre este áudio
George J. Klein was a design engineer who spent 40 years at the National Research Council of Canada and is likely the most productive inventor in Canada in the 20th century. This publication presents a biography of Klein beginning with his ancestors who came to Canada from Alsace in 1835 and continuing with his early life, family influences, education, working life, and inventions. His achievements include designing the Council's first wind tunnels and marine towing tank, research and development of improved skis for airplanes, designing Canada's first nuclear reactor, and the first motorized wheelchairs for quadriplegics, developing the Weasel all-terrain vehicle for the military, inventing a surgical stapling device for suturing blood vessels, and numerous inventions for the space program. The appendix includes a comparison of Klein and Thomas Edison.
