Sobre este áudio
Joining us at Audible is Hollie McNish, the Ted Hughes Award-winning author and poet.
McNish, renowned for her down-to-earth, relatable poetry, had lived a relatively 'normal' life, working part-time jobs at service stations and attending university to gain her degree, before taking the plunge in 2014 to become a full-time writer. Poetry was something that had always been familiar and useful to Hollie, who was used to jotting things down as a way of processing her feelings and situations she encountered. Having built up a collection and finally conquered her fear of sharing her poetry with others, McNish began having her poetry published, and has since been an artist in residence and travelled the world touring her work.
Her latest collection, Slug, covers topics from birth to death, sex to sexism and many other everyday challenges we face in the 21st century. We'll be talking to Hollie McNish about her approach to poetry, what she’s most looking forward to about her next gig, and how she has come to feel comfortable discussing things that no one else does.
