Sinopse
Unfortunately, even small towns - Vincennes included - eventually change, sometimes for the better, and other times, not so much. It's the natural order of things.
Trees grow old and fall. Sidewalks split and crack and are replaced for public safety's sake. Old houses - and all the memories associated with them - are demolished and replaced with parking lots or duplexes. Even historical landmarks - Mother Nature, and Father Time having taken their toll - sadly, vanish - except for our own pictures and memories of them.
Luckily for Vincennes residents, local historian Norbert Brown has created a Facebook group page entitled, Vincennes Remember When, to help all of us keep our fond memories intact, and to reminisce and enjoy them 24-7.
It was his infinite wisdom of our local history and group page that was the inspiration for this book - and the stories within. Some of these stories may elicit a tear, some laughter.
Some may remind you of an old friend you haven't seen since high school - or, sadly, one that has passed in recent years. Some may remind you of your childhood, your teenage years - or having to bid them farewell, in order to move on to bigger and better things; marriage, children, grandchildren, and a lifetime of wonderful memories that only a tight-knit, loving family can provide.
It is my sincere belief that there will be a story for everybody in this audio, regardless of whether you may be a Vincennes history buff or not.
