Sinopse
Letters to the Pope: One Man’s Quest for the Truth is a true story of one man’s decades long struggle to discover the truth of his own origin. Stolen as a baby and then sold as part of a fraudulent adoption, Enrique Vila Torres, now an adult, learned of this deception through accident. Shocked but determined to find his biological mother, he began a lifelong commitment on behalf of himself and victims just like him to get the answers to questions many of us take for granted-Who am I? Where did I come from?
Through a twist of fate, Enrique met others who as babies were also born in the same clinic, Casa Cuna de Santa Isabel in Valencia, Spain, and then sold illegally. Now, calling themselves “siblings,” they are all bound by a single purpose-to find out who they really are and the truth of their own origin. Yet, Catholic Church leaders, nuns and powerful government officials continue to stonewall them and refuse them access to birth records that are legally and rightfully theirs. They fear their own complicit role in this criminal enterprise will be exposed.
As the honorary “big brother” of the Casa Cuna siblings, Enrique, now a lawyer, advocate, and voice for stolen baby victims across Spain, has been writing to Pope Francis for over 12 years, begging for his help and intervention in their case. When not appealing to the Pope for help, Enrique continues to do everything humanly possible on behalf of himself and victims across Spain. Dedicated to exposing the baby stealing and selling criminal network in Spain he refuses to back down, despite the cover-ups, lies, deception, and threats he has and continues to face. Now, he is taking the fight right to the steps of the Vatican and to Pope Francis personally. Will they finally break their silence and do the right thing?
Letters to the Pope is ultimately about the power of love and determination to never stop until the truth is once and for all revealed. A truth which we all have a right to know. No matter what.
