Sobre este áudio
Pain is a natural part of life. We all experience disappointments. Not getting the promotion we wanted at work or finding out that the person we like is involved with another person. We get sad when we lose the people we love, when a relationship doesn't work, our best friend leaves, or someone we care about dies. We may feel angry when something we believe is unfair, be it an oil spill, a racist comment, or someone blocking us in traffic.
Anxiety is also a natural part of the human being; we can feel anxious when we have to make a presentation at work, when we go out on a first date, or when we ask someone for something really important for us. All these emotions are painful for us. Yet, we understand them. They make sense to us, so we allow ourselves to experience them and move forward.
But what happens when the emotions you are experiencing don't seem to make sense and you can't understand them? When are the emotions you have so strong that you can't handle them properly and go on and instead you act negatively while trying to get rid of them? What happens when other people don't understand your emotions and these emotions cause havoc in your life's relationships? This experience is known as dysregulation of emotions.
