Sobre este áudio
In the aftermath of a terrorist attack, American intelligence agents who had let chatter about the attack slip past them, try to implicate the victims as somehow being in league with the perpetrators. Why? Because they didn't believe untrained civilians could fight back against the terrorists and survive. When they interrogate the daughter of one of the victims, Dr. Jack Burke, about the incident, she insists she knows nothing, but then sets out to unravel the mystery.
The story starts as normal as could be in Minnesota. Dr. Jack Burke is burned out. The star orthopaedic surgeon has lost his special edge. He still has skills but no heart for his patients. When an R&R vacation to Belize drops him into a deadly terrorist plot to kidnap an Israeli ambassador’s son, Burke is forced to remember what it means to actually give a damn.
As the attack on their resort paradise unfolds, Burke must give his fellow guests the hard truth: “No one is coming to help us. Either we act now or they will slaughter us one man and one woman at a time”.
Prescription for Terror is contemporary fiction with a medical edge. But more than anything it is a tribute to self-reliance. As the novel’s opening quote says, when the chips are down the best bet is a bet on yourself. Part medical fiction, part political action adventure, and part romance, Prescription for Terror proves that taking arms against a sea of troubles is often the best remedy for defeating the forces aligned against you.
Dr. Uricchio is an Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in Central Florida. Of late, he tends toward the forensic aspects of medicine. He is also a published photographer, a golfer, and a World War II history buff.
