Sinopse

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her first book, When the Dogs Don't Bark, is forensic scientist Professor Angela Gallop.

After joining the Forensic Science Service, Angela was assigned to her first high-profile case: a victim of the Yorkshire Ripper discovered in a timber yard. Angela set about deciphering all she could of the murder, and her expert skills soon saw her specialise in cold cases and work on many prominent and complex criminal investigations.

In 1986 she set up Forensic Access, an organisation which opened up the same access to forensic expertise for defence lawyers as was available to the prosecution, in order for a better balance of scientific evidence when a case went to court.

Alongside her extensive forensic work, Angela has now written her first book, When the Dogs Don’t Bark, a frank memoir of her exceptional career and some of the criminal investigations that she has worked on along the way.

Angela Gallop talks to us about the importance of advancements in forensic technology, her own intriguing career, including her involvement in many high-profile criminal cases, and the recent trend for professional memoirs.
