Sobre este áudio
Sexual hunger; demonic violence; sinister logic; the lethal components of a deadly formula driving a psychopath in the grip of an unimaginable delusion; a boastful killer who sends the police tormenting notes; a tortured, torturing monster who finds ultimate pleasure in viciously murdering happy families, and calls himself The Red Dragon.
Special agent Will Graham had been assigned to similar cases before, cases where he was able to see and feel with the madmen, anticipate their moves and, most terrifying of all, be vulnerable to their horrifying brutality. Now Graham is reluctantly lured out of retirement, to find an opening to the evil mind of the Red Dragon.

Great Abridging
Having read the actual book a while ago, I already knew I loved the story, and needed to revisit it sometime. I was a bit underwhelmed to find out there are only abridged versions on the platform, but was also intrigued to see (listen? lol) how the story would be edited and whether this editing would impact the emotional aspects to it (which were my favorite thing in the book). Turns out they did an outstanding job which probably has to do with Thomas Harris' part in it, as he knew what he aimed for with this book. It was a pleasurable listen. Thomas' writing is very dynamic and all the necessary parts were kept in - although I'd argue there is too little Hannibal for a Hannibal book, but I guess this story is actually about the Red Dragon and not the doctor. Overall I enjoyed Thomas' reading. Having an author read their own work can be a double edged sword as they're not skilled professionals though they did write the story, but I quite enjoyed his enunciation and cadence. And he obviously knew what the characters had to sound like, which made it more natural.
TLDR: Great book, great editing on the abridged version, great narration by the author himself. Solid entertainment. 10/10 would recommend.
