Sobre este áudio
By delving into the world of sleep, you will discover new ways and rediscover old ways that can be effective in resolving your sleeping complaints. Just imagine waking up refreshed and revived, full of energy and self-confidence after a good night’s rest.
It is possible and will most certainly be worth the investment of your time and effort to achieve this worthwhile goal.
Insomnia is one of the most common health problems of the modern world. About a third of the world's population does not get enough sleep. This complaint worsens as we age and leads to many health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and others. Lack of sleep causes the brain to lose focus and concentration, leading to work and automobile accidents, which can be fatal. With so many people not being able to get a proper night’s sleep, we can safely say sleep disorders are reaching epidemic disorders.
To understand sleep, one has to get to grips with the mechanics of sleep and the processes that regulate it. This includes developing a vocabulary of sleep by learning more about the words we hear so often, but the meaning of which we are not always clear about. Words such as circadian rhythms, serotonin, melatonin, brain frequencies, and the like will all be explained in a simple and understandable way. This will lead to a deeper understanding of how to fix things that are obstructing you from getting restorative sleep.
There are many factors that contribute to insomnia, including lack of exercise, poor diet; stimulants such as alcohol, nicotine and caffeine; and the interference of electronic devices. Together they conspire to upset the delicate human chemistry that regulates sleep. Add to these the many sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, and sleep apnea, and it soon becomes obvious that there is a huge problem that needs urgent attention.
This book takes a broad look at all the issues that stand between you and a good night’s rest. It then offers solutions that will help you to cultivate a structure in your daily life that is conducive to sleep. By changing the habits that are detrimental to sleep and implementing good sleep hygiene, it is possible to improve the quality of sleep and sleep for longer. The health benefits from getting enough quality sleep are worth the effort to start making the changes, even if it means doing some things that might be considered unconventional.
