In this work, the well-known apologist Sir Robert Anderson examines spiritual phenomena like glossolalia by searching the Bible and taking history into account.
He argues that the theology of the "gift of tongues movement" reveals enormous ignorance and that it perverts Scripture. As an example, he cites Pentecost and how the glossolalists’ observance of it subordinates the core events to secondary ones of limited worth.
