Sinopse
Disappointments, loss, rejection, betrayal, sickness… Every hardship intended to destroy me and keep me from the fullness of God’s intentions for my life, has in time been used to deepen my love for Jesus and expand my at times wavering faith. As a result I’ve experienced a level of love and faith I would not have known had I not walked through the dark places that would ultimately make His light shine most brightly in my life.
It would be here, in my darkest hours, that I would find His most beautiful treasures. Riches I will forever hold close in my heart. It is with this belief, that I have chosen to write this devotional book. It is my hope that as I share my own personal stories, I will uncover and expose the enemy's lies, that the love and faithfulness of Jesus will be revealed and that God's story will be displayed in mine.
I’ve included 40 devotionals. I selected this number because “40 days” in the Bible often referred to a time of challenge that led to spiritual growth. As you begin your 40-day journey, you will see there are five parts to every devotion: A story with scripture; a place for you to journal reflections; a prayer of submission and trust; a commitment to obedience and action; and an invitation to worship and hear God in a way you may not have before. It is this last section, your creative space, that I would like to explain a bit further as well as encourage you not to bypass its potential to impact your intimacy with God.
It is my hope that my journey to the highest mountaintops and through the deepest of valleys would remind you that, "Yes! You CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens you!"
