Sinopse
In book 6 in the series, It’s summertime in Holiday Bay, and between the outdoor dining option provided by the new rooftop bar and eatery, and the summer concert series held on the roof every Thursday night, the Bistro is busier than they’ve ever been. Beck has an interesting case involving a woman whose mother disappeared when she was a child, Amy is entered into the annual clam chowder cookoff, Dawson has an important decision to make, Nikki has a new guy in her life, and Kennedy is struggling with empty nest syndrome while Addy is visiting her brother in Boston. In spite of a few challenges along the way, life for the gang at the bistro seems to be nothing but blue sky and smooth sailing, until an unexpected visitor arrives on the scene and puts a wrench in things.
In book 5 in the series, It’s Halloween in Holiday Bay and the gang at the bistro have gone all out with seasonal decorations, nightly drink and food specials, and truly haunt worthy games and drawings for the regulars who enjoy hanging out at the bar. The jack-o-lanterns are inspired and the colorful lights plentiful, yet in spite of the festive holiday vibes, all is not quite as it should be. When a local dog walker witnesses something odd, which in her mind could only have been the aftermath of a gruesome murder, she calls Colt, only to find that by the time he arrives the body, along with any evidence that ever existed, is long gone. Colt wants to believe the woman but the evidence suggests otherwise so when he suggests that maybe this particular dog walker hadn’t seen what she thought she had, she hires Beck to prove otherwise. Meanwhile, Shelby plans a Halloween Party, Amy meets a mysterious stranger, Alex agrees to help Leo train Fisher, Dawson considers an odd request, and Nikki stops to seriously consider the choices she’s made along the way.
In book 6 in the series, Shelby and gang at the bistro have decided to ring in the new year with a huge celebration. The building had been decorated, a killer band has been hired, and everyone is looking forward to a fresh start and a new list of resolutions, including Amy, who has been working for weeks to replicate the ravioli soup her neighbor used to make each year for her New Years Day dinner party. In spite of the positive energy created by the annual chance to reset and restart, a dark cloud settles over the festivities when Alex is handed a new case, a modern-day murder that ties into a New Year’s Eve murder Beck investigated five years ago.
