In Bloomfield, someone has been committing grisly murders, and the targets have been carefully chosen. The killer has no intention of stopping until he reaches his goal. Enter Matt Greaves. Slightly jaded, 30-something, divorced, and unable to pay his tea bill on time at the school where he teaches. Greaves loves his job, but has one golden rule;never, under any circumstance, get involved romantically with one of the parents at school. Having done so, and without knowing it, his actions will see him engaged in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with an opponent with a score to settle, and who believes in total control and dominance over those around him.
With the aid of a local policeman with a penchant for going above his pay grade, and with assistance of his self-confessed nerd brother, Greaves will see not only his own life, but those of all around, him changed forever.
In a battle where there can only ever be one winner, and where the lives of many others hang in the balance, Greaves will be the only one who can try to teach his opponent the hardest of lessons. In order to win the war, sometimes self-control is not an option.
