Sinopse
Every inner-city kid grows up with big dreams. However, as they grow older, those dreams are replaced by harsh reality. A realization that life is hard, unfair, and cruel.
In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, fast money and pro sports are thought of as the only ways to be successful. Jovante Ham knew he wanted to be successful, so he had to choose one of the two. Training hard and giving it his all, he went for football. But once his collegiate sports career did not work, he decided to try the only other way he knew how - fast money.
The fast money route was a dangerous one, filled with bad intentions and high risk, but one that led him straight to God. Not sure why he was spared a life of misery and incarceration, he decided to turn things around and be the man God intended him to be.
In The Hood Scholar, Ham candidly discloses his life experiences of how he made it from one of the roughest areas in America to becoming the CEO of a multi-million-dollar technology company and everything he went through to make it there.
He tells the story blood-raw with real-life examples that anyone can relate to. The ultimate goal of this memoir is to give hope and guidance to anyone who is going through a rough patch and remind them that where you come from doesn’t have to dictate where you end up in life.
