Sobre este áudio
Mandy Mayberry is living a life she'd never expected. Her plan was to find the perfect woman to fulfill her love life, have or adopt a few children, write poetry, sketch, paint, and keep the family farm going. Her mother's cancer and father's Alzheimer's put an end to her plans and dreams for her life, or so it seemed to her.
She has been caring for her parents for a few years now. She doesn't resent them, but is weary. As her father's doctor said, "Alzheimer’s is a bitch all dressed up and ready to destroy your mind and life." He, of course, was talking about her father, Nash, but it held true for her. A chance meeting in the rain while getting the day's mail changes her life.
Oh, her father still has Alzheimer's, and her mother is still dying of cancer, but she has a new friend, a woman who might just be the perfect woman for Mandy. Add in nefarious developers trying to rob her land from her, a man who hated her because she refused to date him, cousins who die suddenly and leave her as guardian of their twins, a ruined septic system, a destroyed barn, and even with the love of new friends and their help, her life was a shambles. There wasn't enough ice cream, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and children's puzzles to keep her father on a steady path. The mental decline was all that was ahead of him. His brain declined daily. In his dreams, a big black crow named Paul warned him of a big, mean spider in the loft of the barn who wanted to burn the barn down so Mandy would sell the land to his boss. With new friends helping and love blooming, Mandy at least isn't alone, but the danger is real and ongoing.
