Sobre este áudio
A book-loving whiskey distiller’s life is upended when a famous rock star moves to town and murders start occurring.
When famous hard rock musician Beau Arson moves to Notchey Creek, Tennessee, the small town is sent into a frenzy. Strange events seem to coincide with Beau's arrival, threatening the town's idyllic image and the much-anticipated autumn festival, Pioneer Days.
Whiskey distiller and nerdy wallflower Harley Henrickson lives a quiet life of books and hard work, having given up a Harvard scholarship to care for her late grandfather, whose distillery she has since inherited. Her life is upended when she and her best friend, Tina Rizchek, a rhinestone-and-stiletto-wearing caterer, stumble upon a disoriented drifter in the ditch, and soon after, a wealthy history professor is murdered. As Harley investigates the murder, memories from her own childhood begin to surface, and she unveils a dark secret connected to Beau Arson and prominent citizens in town.
In addition to sleuthing, other issues are causing Harley trouble. Professional football-player-turned-sheriff Jed Turner doesn't appreciate her interference in the murder investigation. The mayor and Chamber of Commerce president are convinced her pet pig, Matilda, is trying to ruin Pioneer Days. Her great-aunt, Wilma True - in between her hair emergencies - is on a mission to create matching festival outfits for Harley and her pig. And thanks to her great-uncle, Tater, she finds herself hauling a giant model cupcake, a pig, and an antique toilet in her truck - all in one week.
Filled with humor, heart-rending moments, and a cast of complex and eccentric characters, The Mist Rises over Notchey Creek is sure to please cozy mystery fans and those who enjoy books about small-town life.
