Sinopse
They were not supposed to be caught. That is what Lionel told her. But there, her beloved brother lay, beaten and bloody, surrounded by soldiers loyal to the king. They are in the grasp of the big knight and are considered traitors. She can’t lose him. He is all she has left; the foundation of her lonely life. So many lonely people with seemingly no hope of love - it shouldn’t be their fate. Life has dealt them emotional blows. But there are surprises in store bringing healing, peace, love, and the end of loneliness.
The Tigress of Gloucester: The End of Loneliness is a historical romance set in medieval England in 1075. King William refused to sanction the marriage of the Earl of East Anglia, Ralph de Guader. Ralph enjoined his brother-in-law, the second Earl of Hereford, Roger de Breteuil, and Waltheof, the Earl of Northumberland, and started a rebellion. Goeffrey de Grey is commissioned by the king to aid in the defeat of the Earl’s Rebellion. He is part of the superior force that engages Earl Ralph at Cambridge and routs them.
As the story begins, Geoffrey lays siege to Norwich Castle. Four bitterly lonely years have passed since Helena’s cousin fled Wymondham. She accompanied her brother, Lionel, to Norwich Castle two years past. Now none but rebels live in de Guader’s castle. To remain is to face death or exile, branded as traitors. Who has Geoffrey captured? A knight and the most beautiful woman Geoffrey has ever seen. Traitors? He has ample time to find out if they are loyal to the king. Nay, the king has other plans, a course to end their loneliness if they are brave enough to face their demons. The king bids them to discover; forge deep into heart, soul, and spirit. Loneliness must end. ’Tis not a way to live. Words are easy to say, but action pushes against raw emotion and feelings pent up in fear of exposure. So many lonely people with seemingly no hope of love.
