Seemingly unprovoked, 15-year-old Tiara attacks a woman in a Vancouver coffee shop. When she is arrested, she claims not to remember anything. The severely injured victim is alive but has fallen into a coma and has no ID on her.
Detective Macintosh is close to retirement. He hopes to solve his last case quickly, but with a victim who cannot be identified and a suspect who supposedly remembers nothing, he is forced to uncover Tiara's motive. During his investigation, he discovers that Tiara has been a sought-after child star in America, and only came to Canada three years ago.
Macintosh starts to dig deeper into her past. His investigation brings him way back to the days of her former fame. What he discovers there is so unbelievable that it shocks him to the core.
Suspicion creeps into his mind and he begins to wonder. Can Tiara be even responsible after all that has happened to her?
