E:15 Florynce “Flo” Kennedy - Radical Black Feminist

  • Sumário

  • Florynce “Flo” Kennedy was a rabble-rousing feminist and civil rights advocate in the 1960’ and ‘70’s. Both her outfits and voice were always the loudest in the room. With her organizing and oratorical skills she helped bridge a connection between the Feminist and Civil Rights Movements. In 1974, People magazine called her “the biggest, loudest and, indisputably, the rudest mouth on the battleground where feminist activists and radical politics join in mostly common cause.” Whether it was organizing the 1968 Miss America Pageant Protest, representing women in one of the most important pre-Roe v Wade abortion cases, or staging the 1973 Harvard “Pee-In”, she always brought her uniquely fiery brand of resistance to any action. Listen in to hear the story of an activist who rarely played by the rules and always stood tall.
