If you are a part of the RQM community, you may be sick of the statement "Well, that's one story". The truth is, by exploring or challenging new stories, you can change your life profoundly. It is a way to look at all the patterns you have been guided by for so long. These patterns will create an over-coupling in our nervous system that will evoke an emotional response when we encounter certain situations. By stepping back and observing these patterns, we can begin the process of rewiring our nervous system, and in that, we get a choice. The next time that you are not enjoying the way that you feel, pause and ask yourself what story that I am currently telling myself. Catch the story and try to challenge the story, tell a different one or maybe three other stories, and just notice what you feel like as you tell different stories with the same facts. Start challenging your own stories. Journal about any patterns that you see in the stories that you tell, and before you know it, you'll be choosing your emotions rather than having them automatically attached to your stories. You will change your life.

Erin tells a rather funny story about a necklace she received. Her husband got a glimpse and was mildly amused at what he thought it was.
