Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arraigned in the Southern District of New York today on a three-count indictment. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life. After a detention hearing that lasted more than two hours, he was held without bail until trial.

The Defense is appearing before the assigned Judge on September 18th, 2024, before the assigned District Judge. It’s unlikely he will be released based on the charges he is facing, the allegations, and the concerns over his power, money, and influence being used to contact or influence victims and witnesses.

Some of what I learned in court today makes me wonder how this went on for so long and was known about by so many without any consequences. But this case has a long way to go before trial, and I will be interested to see what else comes out.

Justin Timberlake pleaded guilty to a traffic infraction driving while ability impaired to resolve his DWI case in the Hamptons. The public safety announcement in front of the Sag Harbor Police Department was part of the plea deal that knocked down the misdemeanor charge he was facing to a non-criminal traffic violation.

Karen Read filed an appeal to motion to dismiss counts one and three to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. The defense argues that the jury acquitted Karen of charges one and three even though they didn't mark it on the jury forms. They relitigate that retrying her for counts one and three violates double jeopardy. They are asking for oral arguments.

On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, Harvey Weinstein was indicted again in New York. According to Law360 reporting, the indictment will remain sealed until Weinstein is arraigned, which has yet to happen due to his deteriorating health. According to Weinstein’s representative he was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, for emergency open heart surgery.

In his status conference in Illinois, Girardi wasn't present and prosecutors asked to continue to the pre-trial conferences until December 18th, 2024. They indicated that they may drop the charges against Girardi after his sentencing on December 6th, 2024 in Los Angeles.

The Bryan Kohberger trial moves to Ada County's Fourth District located in Boise and gets appointed a new judge, Judge Steven Hippler. This means that trial dates and other deadlines are now subject to change.

In the infamous viral clip, Redden is accused of leaping over the bench and attacking a Las Vegas Judge Holthus. He was charged with Attempted Murder of a victim 60 years of age or older. On the second day, after hearing the testimony of Judge Holthus and her law clerk, Redden pleaded Guilty but Mentally Ill. He has a sentencing Hearing on November 7th.

Karen Read has a new interview on ABC's 20/20 show. I reveal my thoughts on the episode and how this could affect her 2025 Retrial. I also go over the motion filed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts simply titled, "Notice Regarding State Trooper."

We all know the Trooper he's talking about...Michael Proctor. His personal phone was extracted for the 2024 Karen Read trial.

Now, the Defense also wants his work phone extracted for the 2025 Retrial. Prosecutor Adam Lally has concerns about this request and I have my own worries about the relevancy of the information it may contain.

On Friday, September 6th, Karen Read was interviewed on ABC's 20/20 show. I share my initial thoughts on the show and what this could mean for the upcoming retrial in 2025. I will go more in depth in this week's podcast episode.

The Commonwealth filed motions to block defense attorneys from getting the full extraction of Trooper Proctor's work phone. His personal cell phone was turned over, but now they are trying to get into his work phone. I will go more in depth about that on Wednesday's podcast episode as well.

For last week's podcast, I went over the arrest of former Police Officer, Matthew Farwell, for the murder of Sandra Birchmore and the Feds charging him with Killing a witness or victim. I answered some of the questions you had in the comment section of the video and what could come next.

Governor Healey of MA brought in Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Noble from New Jersey as the new Head of State Police. Not only is it good news to appoint someone from outside the state, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up under a consent decree.

Kari Morrisey filed a fifty-two page motion to reconsider Alec Baldwin's dismissal with prejudice on a request to exceed the page limit. The Judge denied the state's motion for extension of page limits and cited case law that talks about deterring frivolous filings. Kari Morrissey can technically refile this motion again but it has to be within the 10 page limit.

On February 4th 2021, a pregnant Sandra Birchmore was found deceased in her Canton, Massachusetts apartment. The case was initially ruled a suicide however an internal affairs investigation was opened and led to the resignation of Matthew Farwell, his twin William Farwell and Deputy Chief Richard Devine, all prior to them being interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

On June 18th, 2024 a pathologist hired by Birchmore’s family determined that Sandra Birchmore died by homicide, not suicide. The pathologist was hired in relation to the family's wrongful death action against the department and the officers who had resigned.

On August 27th, 2024, former police officer, Matthew Farwell, was arrested for the murder of Sandra Birchmore and charged with killing a witness or victim. Farwell has a detention hearing set for September 12th, 2024 at 2pm ET and a Status Conference Hearing on October 17th, 2024.
