A Dead Is the New Fabulous Mystery

Animation filmmaker Lucy Frampton seemingly has it all—the glamorous mansion, adorable child and too-handsome-for-his-own-good producer husband. But Lucy has something her famous neighbors do not: a nude, wannabe starlet floating dead in her swimming pool!!! When she and her husband become the prime suspects in the high-profile murder investigation, Lucy knows she’s going to have to clear her own name—especially when she finds out that the enterprising victim had set her sights on Lucy’s husband!

Lucy Frampton just wants to make animated movies and to raise as functional a family as possible in the midst of Hollywood’s special brand of madness. Unfortunately, when her producer-husband Kit scores his first blockbuster movie, he is stricken with the dreaded "Mogus Virus"—(a common ailment!), which compels seemingly down-to-earth people to hire personal chefs and trainers and share enough air-kisses to inflate the Hindenburg. And adding to the crazy is the suspicious on-location death of his director, the much-despised whiz-kid Jeremy Lord. What’s a rational wife to do?

Lucy Frampton lives amid the glitzy trappings of Los Angeles. Her friends enjoy intimate relationships with aroma therapists and body sculptors, and her neighbors' estates boast screening rooms and humidity-controlled wine cellars. The exclusive Windermere Academy, which her daughter, Chloe, attends, has a shrink on the payroll to lead "encounter sessions" when tiny tempests threaten the students' sunny days. And even bit players in the Windermere school pageants have publicists and agents.
