Shadow of the Dragons

A dark ritual heralds the dragons' return. The world trembles.To save his dying mother, a young man named Euddan enters a cursed forest where monsters of darkness prowl. Alone in the shadowy woods, he finds a mysterious creature made of light. She may be his salvation...and the only way to save his mother.

Euddan and Vounee have fled their homes, hunted by a deadly wizardess and her pack of enchanted hounds. Every time the youths think they have escaped, Tshar Ruan appears. She will not stop until she releases the shadow of the dragon that dwells in Vounee's soul. To have any chance to escape, they must trust new allies. Far from home, who can they turn to for the help they need? The situation turns grim when an even deadlier foe joins the hunt.

Tshar Ruan believed that any act could be justified to free the souls of the dead dragons and expunge the false gods. But the hunt has weakened her resolve. The truth becomes a harsh mistress when you find yourself forced to sacrifice the innocent. As the hunt continues for Euddan and Vounee, Ruan finds herself in the company of the dread dragon, Lady Shadow. Joined by lizard men wielding magical weapons, she plunges into the Hordelands. Will she hold true to her purpose, or will the guilt destroy her?

Euddán and Vounée are joined by a hunter who has betrayed the Apostasy, unable to stomach their methods. She wants to find a new way to save the dragons, but not everyone trusts her. Dhaua and Thaaph remember all too well how Ruan fought with the Apostasy and conquered their home. Yet, their former enemy might be their only chance to reach their destination safely. Guided by Vounée's vision, they need to reach the vast desert known simply as the Sands.
