Sinopse
Since it began several years ago Hugo Rifkind's dazzling My Week column has been satirising the high profile and the famous, and basically anyone foolish or unfortunate enough to find themselves at the top of the news agenda that week. The column itself is a fictional diary parodying their movements over seven days in a rarely flattering but always hilarious manner.
Rifkind's victims are as diverse and as headline-grabbing as David Cameron, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Edwina Currie, Barack Obama and Pippa Middleton. This book collects the very best of this incredibly popular column, introduced and linked in a way that adds zest and background to the entries.
Resumo editorial
Hugo Rifkind draws upon his favorite entries from past seven years of his satirical Times column, My Week. Rifkind recalls working as the Times gossip columnist in 2006 and thinking how much easier it would be to make things up about the public figures who refused to speak with him, Thus was My Week born, a series of diary entries from the fake pens of such sundry public figures as Tony Blair and Justin Bieber.
British Actor Michael Fenton Stevens gets cheeky with his performances of this smorgasbord of British and international politicians, entertainers, writers, sports stars, and royalty. Any news junky looking for a break will find this audiobook a pleasantly irreverent spin on politics and pop culture.
