Sobre este áudio
Witness the creation of an American Indian Hero. Although this is historical fiction, Ulzana was an actual person, the brother of Chihuahua, a Chiricahua sub-chief. The Apache life-way in this story is presented the way it actually was - the way Ulzana really lived it.
The story follows Ulzana through all the stages of his life from infancy to boyhood, through his training as a warrior, his ritual life as son, husband and father, and through 40 years of war against both the Mexicans and the “White Eyes”. Not only is this Ulzana’s story, it’s also the story of the Cho-ken-en (Chiricahua Apaches), their eventual surrender to the US Army and the Shis-Inday (Apache) betrayal by the American government.
Here are all the heroes and villains as they lived, bled, and died. After listening to Ulzana’s story, you’ll appreciate these remarkable people in a new and authentic light. Sometimes, just at sunset, if you walk through the deserts and mountains of Arizona and New Mexico, you may still hear the sounds of their laughter and their weeping carried on the winds sweeping down from the heights. The mountains remember their dignity.
If you want the most complete possible understanding of what the Apache became in terms of what they experienced, you must listen to all three books of the Chiricahua Apache series.
