    In many countries, restaurants usually don’t allow customers to bring their own drinks or food. But in China, this is very common, and you can even have outside food delivery sent straight to your table. In this episode, I’m sharing some personal stories from my recent trip back home to talk about this different BYOB and bring-your-own-food culture in China.

    大家好！这期节目我想跟大家分享一次真实又漫长的回国经历：从东京新宿出发，到羽田机场，搭乘国航回北京。虽然一路上没有出什么大问题，但各种等待真的太多了——堵车、排队、安检、登机前等飞机、起飞延误、等行李……感觉整整一天都在“等”。

    我还聊到了一些生活上的小观察，比如飞机上的空调温度设定，以及中、美、日之间对“舒适温度”的不同感受。现在我已经顺利回到北京，准备先休息几天，再看看有没有机会和爸妈一起出去转转。

    Hi everyone! In this episode, I share my long but fairly smooth journey back to China from Tokyo. I left my hotel in Shinjuku, took a bus to Haneda Airport, and flew with Air China to Beijing. There weren’t any major issues, but there was a lot of waiting—traffic, long lines, security, boarding delays, flight delays, baggage claim... it felt like I spent the whole day just waiting.

    I also talk about some small cultural observations, like how air conditioning temperatures feel different in the U.S., Japan, and China. I’ve now arrived in Beijing and plan to rest for a few days before possibly traveling somewhere with my parents.

    みなさん、こんにちは！今回は、東京から北京への帰国旅についてお話しします。新宿のホテルを出発して羽田空港へ行き、中国国際航空で北京に向かいました。特にトラブルはなかったですが、とにかく待つ時間が多くて、渋滞、長い列、セキュリティ、搭乗前、遅延、手荷物受取……1日中ずっと待っていた感じでした。

    飛行機の空調温度や、アメリカ・日本・中国での「快適さ」の感じ方の違いなど、ちょっとした文化の違いにも触れています。今は無事に北京に着いて、少し休んでから、両親とどこかに出かけられたらいいなと思っています。

    本集简介 / Episode Summary / エピソード概要：中文： 大家好，明天我就将从美国出发前往日本。在九州、鹿儿岛玩一个星期，然后到长野的白马村和松本再玩一个星期，接着前往中国待一个月，7月14日回到美国。七月中下旬，我还会去看三场 Blackpink 的演唱会，分别在芝加哥和纽约！这个夏天我还会教两个一对一的中文暑期课程，帮助学生完成跳级目标。这期节目是一次旅行前的暑期更新，接下来的两周我可能不会更新，但整个暑假期间仍有机会继续和大家见面。我十分期待这次日本之行，也希望大家的夏天都精彩充实！English: Hi everyone! Tomorrow I’ll be leaving the U.S. for Japan. I’ll spend a week traveling in Kyushu and Kagoshima, then another week in Hakuba and Matsumoto in Nagano. After that, I’ll head to China for a month and return to the U.S. on July 14. In the second half of July, I’ll be going to three Blackpink concerts—one in Chicago and two in New York!This summer, I’ll also be teaching two one-on-one intensive Chinese courses to help students skip a level. This episode is a summer update before I head off.
