To save his friends, he must face religious fanatics, a corrupted government, and an entire company of psychopaths that think it's all a game.

The day has come. The world's first truly immersive VR-MMO is indistinguishable from real life. One million copies are sent out and one million log in. But things go wrong. Players don't respawn when killed, and their violent deaths seem all too real. Because they are. No one can log out. The button is gone. In the real world those wearing the headsets are found dead. One by one, day by day, thousands die.

A teenager is diagnosed as terminally ill and given only seven days to live. As he goes to sleep, he travels to a fantasy world where magic, the strange, and absurdity reign. There's a legend in Strange World, one of an artifact that can grant a single wish. Taking on the persona of "Magna", the teen goes on a journey to find the artifact. But there's another legend: To make the wish, you must make a great and terrible sacrifice.
