Twelve-year-old Luna loves the nighttime more than anything else. It’s when no one gives her “that look” about the half mask she has to wear while healing from a disfiguring car accident. It’s also the perfect time to sit outside and draw what she sees - like the boy and girl from the new family next door that zip out of the window in a zeppelin and up to the stars. At first, she thinks she’s dreaming. But one night they catch her watching.

Giada Bellantuono has traveled all the way from Italy to New York City to follow her dreams: begin her official training as a magical veterinarian! It wasn’t easy going against generations of family tradition, not to mention saving said family from wicked witches. But when Giada hears rumors of a lost baby unicorn roaming the tri-state area, she has reason to suspect that the Streghe del Malocchio are back and behind the disappearance. She’s fought them once before, and she can do it again!

With her thirteenth birthday just around the corner, Giada Bellantuono has to make a big decision: Will she join the family business and become a healer or follow her dreams? But even though she knows her calling is to heal vulnerable animals, using her powers to treat magical creatures is decidedly not allowed.
