Congo and Will is a captivating story about a Congo African Grey Parrot named Congo and a little boy named Will. The story takes place in Africa with adventure and excitement in the Congo Basin Rainforest, Congo River, and a small African village by the ocean. A terrible storm with hurricane force winds destroys some of the small village where Congo and Will live. Congo's cage is blown over, and Congo flies away during the storm because he is so frightened by it. Will, his mother, and some natives from one of the local tribes search for Congo deep in the jungle of the rainforest.

Martha King is overweight and lacking in confidence but her family is wealthy. Jacob Yoder decides that she would make a great match for his only son Isaac. However, Isaac isn't keen on the idea. Martha King has begun to think that she will never find a husband. Her problems with overeating began when her father died when she was young. Food was her comfort and her only friend. The more comfort she looked for, the bigger she got. She is the subject of constant barbs and whispers, she pretends she can't hear it. But she does.
