Shady Gully

It's the spring before high school, and Desiree (Desi) and Robin have little in common. Robin has lived in the small town of Shady Gully, Louisiana, her whole life, while Desi comes from the big city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Robin's family is devout, reserved, and dedicated to church. Desi has never been to church, her parents are divorced, and her mom, Sunny, is as flamboyant as they come.

Book two begins the morning after a torrential storm upends Shady Gully, and its citizens wake to the news that Wolfheart's beloved sister, Peony, has been brutally murdered. Wolfheart earned his reputation as the town lowlife in book one, inciting unrest and corrupting the youth with his homegrown product and signature scowl. But it's five years later, and the scoundrel from across the creek is now an upstanding citizen, a church-streamer, and a doting brother and uncle. Or is he?

Two years have passed since violence and arson brought Shady Gully and its citizens to the brink of destruction, but now is the time for healing and new beginnings. And a wedding is just the thing to bring everyone together...or is it?

When the charismatic pastor of Kentucky’s biggest and most popular megachurch collapses on stage in front of thousands, a frenzy of speculation erupts. Is he sick? Washed up? Or is it that woman? Mysterious and strikingly beautiful, could “Meadow from small-town Louisiana” be responsible for the revered Timothy’s downfall? Desperate to escape scrutiny, Timothy inflames rumors even more when he takes a sabbatical with the lovely Meadow—to Shady Gully, Louisiana.

In the final book of the series, Desi and Robin return as storytellers. Nearly forty years after Paint Me Fearless, their lives look different now. They are mothers, businesswomen, and podcast superstars, as well as the matriarchs of Shady Gully, Louisiana. A place where traditions run deep, friends and family come first, and loyalty is held in the highest regard, Shady Gully is reeling with uncertainty during one of the hottest summers on record. Desi’s daughter, Micah, finds herself at a crossroads as she turns thirty.
