Sobre este áudio
Hi, I’m Jerry Baseball, and I’ve coached two seasons of machine pitch baseball, one with each of my sons.
When I was an assistant coach on my older son’s team, some coaches treated machine pitch as another ho-hum year of t-ball, and other coaches treated machine pitch like the high school sectional championships.
When I took over as head coach the following season, I aimed to split the middle and shepherd the players from the lower stakes of t-ball to the higher stakes of Little League.
So, I experimented with every aspect of coaching a machine pitch team throughout the season. Sometimes, the tactics that worked in t-ball kept working. Other times, the players were ready for more advanced drills and skills.
Even though I was constantly tweaking things, we played better than most opposing teams. And if any team looked better than us, I focused on closing the gap, like working harder on my pitching machine operation skills.
If you’re a frazzled parent, you can listen to the book in 30 minutes, or if you’re crunched for time, listen to this audiobook during your commute, and have a plan to lead you through a great season.
Even if you feel like your baseball knowledge topped out at the t-ball level and you’d be better off letting someone more experienced coach, you can outfox the opposing coaches by implementing what you learn in this audiobook. People will come up to you mid-season and say things like, “You’re really into baseball, aren’t you?” and you’ll look around to see which of your budding superstars is walking by.
