The Flying Life is the life story of our father, Stefan Cavallo, a test pilot at Langley Field during World War II, who passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022, at 101. While attending the School of Aeronautical Engineering at New York University, he also took flying lessons at Teterboro Airfield in New Jersey through a government-sponsored program and graduated with a combination aeronautical engineering degree and pilot’s license in April 1942, just five months after Pearl Harbor.

Chris Cochrane never imagined abandoning school for a dangerous life in Castle Forks. He never wanted to fight immortal Demon Shadows. And he certainly didn't ask to risk his life protecting the whole world. While on a hunting trip with his father in the wooded mountains, a magical creature invites them to an invisible castle hidden in plain sight. A castle that brings with it an impossible world, lifelong secrets, and an ancient enemy that wants to destroy humanity.

This work of art is a dedication of what I have gone through in life, from my military experience to returning to civilian life and restoring a normal life. Even though you have your brothers and sisters in green, they don't replace what you have at home. The experiences are a total shock no matter how many times you are deployed and think that you are used to it. PTSD is an aftereffect, and a lot of people, including family, is affected unknowingly. Only time, perseverance, and the undaunted care, affection, and understanding of your loved ones and friends can help in the situation at hand.
